The East Coast
- Full Day excursion
The east region of Mauritius is well known for
ile aux Cerfs. A small island, 10 minutes by boat
from the small fishing village of Trou d'eau Douce.
Ile Aux Cerfs
Off the east coast, 20 minutes by boat from Pointe
Maurice is the island resort of Ile Aux
Cerfs. Tickets for boat transfers are
available on the spot. The island has two restaurants,
a boat-house and stretches of beautiful beaches
and a 18 hole golf course designed
by Bernhard Langer.
There are no deer (cerfs) remaining on this island
of 79 hectares, covered with casuarinas, coconut
trees and flower bushes. As you step off the boat
you are greeted by white sandy beaches for sunbathing
and translucent turquoise waters for swimming
and snorkelling.
You can hire water skis, pedal-boats, sailboards
and laser dinghies to practice your favourite
water sports (with a supplement) at the boathouse.
